lenght of hair kitten - somali hair development

Looking at my kittens I also sometimes feel a little doubt about the lenght of hair they develop. Will it be long or short. Of some I'm sure, about some I still have a little doubt.

Looking at these somali kittens gave me a smile of recogniton.

These kittens are all semi long hair, both parents are Somali's.
The litter was BIS in Zutphen last year, and yes they are great

Yeah, I know and they are beautiful.

But looking at them is like looking at Pegusha her kittens. Slowly they develop their coat. Natasha her longhaired girl has exploded hair after the age of 4 weeks.

How does a somali X aby variant breeder recognise which is a Somali en which is a variant?
And at what age?
I have a look at the back of their neck when they are born - if I have the time . A little curl does give me a idea. But I need to wait a while to be sure.

Do all the somali kittens have the same way of hair length development?

Hi Anke,

Some breeders can see it right away, we never had a somali x variant litter so I can not give advice.

No in our litter there were 2 kittens, the sorrel one has longer hair than the ruddy one. I also see different hair lenght by our turkisch Van's.
