Shave the bikiniline?

Post  Marleen on Fri Feb 15, 2008 7:18 pm

Dear friends,

Bink has developed some matting (ned: klitten) of his fur between his hind legs. I try to comb it to separate the hairs, but he hates it and is wriggling to get away.Evil or Very Mad It is painful for him when I try to pull the comb/brush through. I am afraid that it will get worse if I do not do anything about it. On the other hand I do not want to hurt or annoy him.

Have any of you experienced the same problem or do one of you maybe have a solution?

If I cannot get the matting out I am considering having the vet shaving the mats away. It will grow back in time I guess.

Shave the bikiniline?

Il faut employer une brosse coupante. En brossant on coupe les noeuds en long. Ainsi, on ne tire pas trop sur les poils.

Should be used a cutting brush. While brushing one cuts the nodes longitudinally. Thus, one does not draw too much on the hairs

Hello,Marleen!
I do not have such problems. The wool does not roll down in balls. I think, that it is possible to cut off accurately scissors the rolled wool. I had a Persian cat earlier-when it was impossible to comb, I cut off the rolled wool.
Regards, Vilia.

Do you have a photo of the brush you use?

Does it look like?

I do use a small on version of this between Ozar is hind legs. It removes the lose hair. THis are the hair that gives the problems. But I do not often use it on the rest of the cat.... As I do not wish him to become a " Sphinx" Laughing Laughing Laughing

I forgot. When I find a matting I first try to a little with my hands, but when that does not work, Michel and I do cut it out. We do it together. One is petting/ handling the cat and the other is doing the "job"...
