Blue and Orange for a change

Courtoise yesterday morning, digesting, having just pilferred and emptied Beau's dish!!! I thought she could not jump that high yet.... I now understand wy Beau has been so hungry for the last 2 days and why I kept putting food back in his dish!

Courtoise hier matin, en train de digérer, venant juste de boulotter toutes les croquettes de Beau !! Je pensais qu'elle ne pouvait pas encore sauter aussi haut.... Je comprends maintenant pourquoi ces 2 derniers jours Beau était affamé et pourquoi je n'arrêtais pas de remplir sa gamelle de croquettes !!!

Well, I was last Saturday at the Orléans (south of Paris) show (TICA and LOOF) with Courtoise. Her 2nd show but this time on her own and with the noise of TICA!!!! I do not do TICA with Chartreux as a cat needs to have a very accepting, easy and calm temperament for it. This is why you hardly ever see Chartreux on TICA, they do have their little character.

- Samedi dernier, j'étais à Orléans pour une expo (TICA et LOOF) avec Courtoise. Sa 2ème expo mais cette fois-ci toute seule et avec le bruit de la TICA !!!! Je ne fais pas de TICA avec les Chartreux car un chat doit avoir un caractère facile, souple et calme. C'est pour cela que vous voyez rarement des Chartreux en TICA, ils ont leur petit caractère.


Anyway, past the first hour, she took it like a pro and I was very happy about that.
- Bref, passée la 1ère heure, elle a pris ça comme une pro ce dont je suis très contente.

Now that I know she does not hate shows, I think that I shall invest in a Sturdi cage as there are really very good. It'll be a lot easier than using the one lent by the club.
- Maintenant que je sais qu'elle ne hait pas les expos, je pense que je vais investir dans une cage Sturdi car elles sont vraiment très bien. Cela sera quand même beaucoup plus pratique que celle prêtée par le club.

Good for you and Courtoise that she was relaxed at the show. For me the attitude of a cat on a show is also more important then the opinion of the judges! But what was their opinion? Did they appreciate your beauty?

We share exactly the same opinion Anke. That's why Beau who hates shows and is extremely stressed stays at home.
- Nous partageons exactement la même opinion Anke. C'est pour cela que Beau qui hait les expos et est super stressé reste à la maison.

I have to admit that I never visited a Tica show. But maybe I will in the future.

Good job, sounds like a good show for you!!

TICA shows do tend to be loud with all the noise of people moving about and the PA system announcing what cats should be where at any given time. Most cats do well, although it is always better to start showing them as kittens once they reach 4 months and then they tend to tolerate shows better. Plus, they like to be with their owners for a day or two with none of the other house cats around, then they can enjoy being spoiled on on one with you for the week-end. They do tend to pick up on their owners feelings too, if the owner is neverous and excitable, then the cats will be too, so, always be calm and act like this is a normal thing and soon kitty will be very happy to be with you and the judges!

Full of compassion, Beau is helping Courtoise getting dry after her 1st unvoluntary bath!

Courtoise did listen to uncle and now checks if the tub is empty before jumping on it every morning!

The young lady (19!!!) who took the pictures has just joined a photography school She also breeds somali. And she took 2 lovely pictures of Bernard's RB male.

Villia, I have to admit there are parts of Courtoise I would like to steal for my own cats!!! As Russian Blue of the English type she is lovely (read great!!) And as a Chartreux (in dutch Karthuizer) she must be near to perfectl!!!
