I think it is just a difference in spelling, as Cora originally had the spelling as "nebelung", but maybe
in different languages it is spelled different, we all have our spelling "rules" on how words are
formed. But as far as I know, the intent was to be Nebelung.

Good question. I'm also wondering sometimes about beginning. There is interesting post from Cora Cobb about how she started but there is also information that she faced during years some "unwilling and unexpected" long haired Russian Blues.
I guess that "Nebelung" name was invented by Cora and Nibelung I found mostly in Russia maybe it's only spelling mistakes?
Girls, some of you contacted with Cora have you ever asked?

Hello, all!
I wished to learn, whence there was name Nebelung why sometimes write Nibelung. I heard two different opinions and that is proper. Who the first so has named this breed?,
