It was a very nice day at the show. Bernard (with his lovely partner Christiane and our "translator" Didier), Nanna (ofcourse with Aart) and I were sitting next to each other. Marleen, Valentina, Monique, Arnold and Damien, Kirsten, Jan-Willem and Zep did visit. We did have a lunch and a lovely desert with all of us.
The nebelung did not have to complain about attention. Many people did stop to have a look at the Nebelung.
I do not know all the results as only the last minute the reports were given and I forgot to ask Bernard if Karolina or Olrun got the international point. But thats also because the judge liked both of them, and Bernard could not tell by looking at the judge. Sometimes you can see what he writes or you know because he likes one obviously best.
The judge, mr. Vestjens did like all the Nebelung presented. All of them got did welll and got the titels they were after (exept for Olrun or Karolina - they wanted the same titel and that can be only given to one of the contenders).
Palaya Azadeh- of Nanna- got a special price and
Ciastek the Grey - of Bernard- was Best in Variety. Also congratulations to you Urszula!!!
Ladoga's Mischutka - of Nanna- was nominated best in show kittens 6-10 months.
Ciastek was also nominated best in show adult males
It was great to see all the different nebelung. They have many differences and many simelarities, but all of them are pretty.
We realy enjoyed the show and hope to do a show with much more Nebelung next year in Belgium.

Sounds like a good show--sometimes it is just as much fun to meet and chat with
the fellow exhibitors as it is to win some points! And it is always nice to see the slight
differences between the breeders lines.
Goodness sakes, Zep is a big boy now, I can remember getting little baby photos of him
from Kirsten, seemed like just last year, and he is now walking, talking and chewing (ie he has his teeth)!
What a cutie and I think I see a future cat show judge
Congrats to all

You must have had a wonderful day
It was a lovely day, and next time, BELGIUM 2009, you can join us with your Nebelung.
That will be great!!!!
Re: Utrecht 27-1-2007
Dear all,
It was really nice to meet everyone. I'm very curious who got the point.
I will try to be there also in Belgium, with 2 cats. Quda will go than, however she hates it, and the kitten I will get from Ula. Anke you made a very beautiful picture from Zep, I really like the one with the look: What do you want from me?
Regards Kirsten

I followed your link to the other show photos, and I have to say, what a nice group of Nebs were
at that show, and a couple russians too
Very nice, I almost think that I like the quality of the Nebs I see in Europe now better than some I
see in the USA. I see real nice heads, ears, eyes in the Euro Nebs, and here I am seeing weak eyecolor
and rabbit ears....not good IMO.
Glad you all had fun, and what nice portraits of Zep!

I'm looking forward to the show in 2009 already. Seeing more (and different) Nebelung and meeting Laurence and Urszula. I hope even more will Nebelung owners will be able to come.
It sounds great!!!!! And besides the offical judgement we could have our own competition for most beautifull eyes, best coat, sweetes Nebelung, most beautiful kitten and most beautifull adult. I know that I would love to take a part of this cat and that cat and combine it to a "perfect cat". And those cats are not mine. But what is some one else his opinion?
All the Nebelung owners at the show can give their opinion anonymous on a form. Ofcourse incl. the reason why. ( It would be great to know more about the what we appriciate in our cats.)
At the end of the day the results will be known, and the winners get a price!!!
What do you think of this proposal and are there categories you would like to see.
Regards,
Anke

I hardly dare to ask.......... "will you come with or without cats?"
It would be great if you could bring them, but I could understand totaly if you do not take them on such a long journey. In both cases!!!!!
I will be happy to see you!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Utrecht 27-1-2007
Hi Anke,
I will try to come with Quda and my new kitten from Ula, maybe Kira. Enzo the nebelung kitten from this litter will probably go to Tilburg and I will offer them a free show. Maybe Marleen can come with Bink?

Great!!! That you will come with so many of your lovely cats and what a great thought "a free show". I will follow your thought and will also offer the buyers of my kittens a free entree for this show/ meeting.

Re: Utrecht 27-1-2007
I had a look at Bernard's website.
Ciastek got his CAGCI + BV and Karolina got the CACIB.
Great idea the free show for one's kitten!

Congratulations Ciastek and Karolina with the splendid results.
It was a nice show to visit. (I was there on business too, finding a man for my Turkish Angora.) I am sorry I missed you Kirsten.
I will consider visiting the show next year with Bink but I think is very very shy and would not appreciate being confined in a small cage all day. Being confined in a bench for 15 minutes to visit the vet or something and he goes totally bezerk.
It would be great to have a lot of Nebs together in a show though. It is far away in time and I will seriously think about it.

Hi Marleen,
Mine also don't like showing. So I hope you can come, it is only once in his lifetime. Sorry that I missed you, I didn't know you were there.

For your cats who are stressed in a show, I can recommend you to use the Bach Flowers. They really work and are totally "healthy" and cannot harm your cats. Another thing is to put a little bag of lavender in their cage too. Lavender masks the other smells and has a tranquilizing effect for the cats.
I have used Hornbeam Bach flower for Beau when I took him out for the 1st show of Courtoise.
Considering how stressed Beau had been at his 1st show, I gave him 4 drops of Hornbeam every day 2 weeks prior to the show, directly in his mouth... You can put the drops in their drinking water too. It does not matter if the other cats drink it too.
Pictures of Beau in December 2006 for this 1st show. What you cannot hear is that Beau growled non stop the whole day! One sees how really stressed he was
