Mundikat 23 & 24 March (Easter/Paques) - Arnheim

Post  laurence on Sun Oct 28, 2007 1:06 am

Hello,

I know I am planning well in advance! But I plan to attend this show (FIFE) at least on the Sunday with Courtoise. There should be some Chartreux present. Maybe not the best of dates as the show takes place on Easter Sunday and Monday....
Shall I be lucky to see some beautiful Nebelungs and people from this forum? Does FIFE recognize the Neb breed?

Hello,

I have been told by a friend that this is realy a lovely show. She always liked to go there with her Russian Blue. But for me....... the Fife does not accept our lovely breed yet.

And I have a quite a filled agenda for my cats, so I won’t go. But I will cross my fingers for you!!! Very Happy

Mundikat 23 & 24 March (Easter/Paques) - Arnheim

Post  Bernard Boucher on Sat Nov 10, 2007 2:29 am

Je ne sais pas ce que je ferais pour Paques 2008. Je ne pense pas aller à Arnheim. Cette exposition Fife est inutile à la progression de mes chats. Ce serais différent si la Fife reconnaissait les Nebelung.

I do not know what I would do for Easter 2008. I do not think of going to Arnheim (Arnhem - the Netherlands). This Fife exposure is useless with the progression of my cats. It would be different if Fife recognized Nebelung.

It would only be usefull if we come with 15 cats Laughing Laughing Laughing (breed recognition needs 15 cats at a show)

hahaha It would be fun!!! bounce bounce bounce

cheers It would be great to show and meet the other owners/breeders and their cats. I find the thought really fabulous !!!! cheers Could not we pick a show to meet ? Bernard and I would be meeting in at the show in Utrecht- the Netherlands, but the WCF shows in Oeding- Germany (Niederbergischer katsenverein) or Gelsenkirchen- Germany (Deutsche Edelkatze) would be more in the middle. Both are in the weekend of 9 and 10 februari.

Just think about it!!

I have just been told that Mundikat is planning a special blue for the Easter Monday. But the special blue will be made only with the following 4 breeds:

- chartreux
- russian blue
- korat
- british blue

So if you know of some RB breeders who would be interested, that would be great!

-----------------

At a Russian blue forum in the Netherlands we are also talking about this show. I would love to go there with Ozar and Pegusha.... If we could make 15 cats and some preparations and some of us as FIFe breeders ............... (we could make a recognition show........) - Fife allows 2 shows for recognition so.......

Regards,

Anke

4.6 Recognition of new breeds and new varieties

4.6.1 Recognition of a new colour variety or a new breed

To recognize a new colour variety to a breed listed by the FIFe, or a new breed not listed by the FIFe, the following conditions must be met:

Recognition show(s) must take place before 1st of February of the same year the application for recognition has been forwarded to the FIFe General Assembly.
No later than 1st of March, the Breed Council of the breed concerned must receive all relevant documents in order to give its opinion on the subject of recognition.
No later than 60 days prior to the FIFe General Assembly, the FIFe Board and the Commissions must receive the final application for recognition, including the opinion of the Breed Council concerned (if any).
4.6.2 Recognition of a new colour variety

By new colour variety is meant a colour, which

of new colour varieties within an established breed, or which
has not been recognised for the actual breed mentioned in the proposal
To recognize a new variety to a breed listed by the FIFe, the following conditions must be met:

exhibition of 10 different cats at a minimum age of 6 months
Two-thirds of the exhibited cats must be registered in a FIFe organisation and owned by a FIFe Member’s individual member
TThis presentation must take place during one or two international shows, in the presence of at least 5 members of the Judges & Standards and LO-Commission, with at least one representative from the LO-Commission.

If the presentation is to be held at two different shows, this must be effected within 6 months.

4.6.3 Recognition of a new breed

To recognize a new breed, i.e. a breed not listed by the FIFe as a recognized breed, the following conditions must be met:

Exhibition of 3 different cats with 5 consecutive generations of the breed for recognition,
In addition, exhibition of 15 different cats showing 3 different generations of the same breed for recognition.
All exhibited cats must be at least 6 months old, be registered in a FIFe organisation and owned by a FIFe Member’s individual member.
This presentation must take place during one or two international shows in the presence of at least 5 members of the Judges & Standards and LO-Commission, with at least one representative from the LO-Commission.

If the presentation is to be held at two different shows, this must be effected within 6 months.

Recognition of a new breed will follow two steps. When recognised by the FIFe, the new breed will receive a preliminary recognition. At this level the cats can achieve no certificates higher than CACIB/CAPIB.

To obtain full recognition, documents must be presented to the FIFe General Assembly, proving that at least a total of 50 cats are entered in the LO or RIEX registries of at least 3 FIFe Members.

Full recognition can take place no earlier than one year and no later than 5 years after the breed received preliminary recognition

4.6.4 Application for recognition

When an application for recognition

of new colour varieties within an established breed, or
of colour varieties within a new breed to be recognised by the FIFe
has been forwarded to the FIFe as a proposal, the General Assembly is only allowed to make a decision on the actual colour varieties mentioned in the proposal. Other varieties than the ones applied for can only be dealt with and recognised if the Judges & Standards and the LO-Commission have recommended to do so.

The application for recognition must at least contain:

exact indication of which colour should be recognised (use special form)
future standard and scale of points for the colour / breed
indications of which problems regarding these colour varieties could occur and which actions should be taken
which restrictions there should be in the Breeding and Registration Rules (if any)
how possible outcomes, which are not yet recognised should be recognised
the opinion of the Breed Council for the breed (if any)

Cat Show Mundikat

Post  bernard on Tue Dec 11, 2007 3:46 am

ça a l'air compliqué.....

I do think you understand it correctly and that the regulations of the FiFe are not in our best intrests (at this moment). From my point of the use of Russian Blue and RB Variant cats will be better for the future of the breed. We are expanding in our genetic pool (and with this garding the health of the Nebelung and getting ( Very Happy if needed Very Happy ) better looks . To breed Nebelung to Nebelung now might give the opposite effect.

Hi Anke,

That are my thoughts too. FIFe will be a goal on the long term, not for this moment. First things first, than we can go further.
